ABOUT

Dash 4 Cash Barrel Racing was formed by a passionate group of friends who recognised the need for more barrel racing events in South Australia.
Nestled in the picturesque Hoffnungsthal Valley near Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley, our events offer a perfect blend of thrilling competition and community spirit.
Hosted on private property, we organise barrel racing events during the warmer months, providing a platform for riders of all ages and skill levels to showcase their talents.

What is Barrel Racing?

Barrel racing is a timed speed event on horse-back. At club level/divisional barrel races, it is open to anyone with a horse. It is not a women on a Quarter Horse. Both boys and girls and women and men can compete on any horse in any gear. We encourage everyone to come along and give it a try! You do not need to be a speed demon! We have incentives for all levels.

Diagram of a Barrel Racing Course. Riders enter at the red line, circle around the 1st barrel, proceed to the 2nd barrel, and then continue on to the 3rd where they will complete the pattern and finally exit the course crossing the red line a second time. This pattern is often referred to as a “Cloverleaf”. The pattern may also begin with the left barrel first.

When are events held?

Events are held in the warmer months, as most barrel racers are allergic to the cold!!
